20 years after the Centre for Social Justice’s (CSJ) seminal report, Breakdown Britain, when it
first shone a light into the darkest corners of the UK, the CSJ have established the Social Justice
Commission. Our task was to first conduct an unflinching enquiry into what life is like for those
struggling the most in the UK today, and then consider a way forward to address the root causes of
poverty. Two Nations is the first stage of that process, a report into the State of the Nation.
